M. Wentzel Meeting Summary:
The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff conducted the meeting in accordance with NRC Management Directive 3.5, Attendance at NRC Staff-Sponsored Meetings (ML21180A271).
The purpose of the meeting was to conduct a regulatory engagement to discuss X-energys plans for installing a meteorological tower and the data collection to support deployment of their Xe-100 high gas temperature reactor at the Dow Chemical Company Long Mott Site, in Seadrift, TX.
The X-energys staff presentation discussed the following topics:
Current use of meteorological data in support of the construction permit application.
Relevant regulatory requirements and guidance.
Proposed use of meteorological data sources as an alternative to installing an onsite met tower.
No regulatory decisions were made as a result of this meeting.
