M. Wentzel Meeting Summary:
The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff conducted the meeting in accordance with NRC Management Directive 3.5, Attendance at NRC Staff-Sponsored Meetings (ML21180A271).
The purpose of the meeting was to conduct a regulatory engagement to discuss X-energy's plan for fuel qualification in support of the proposed construction permit application for an Xe-100 high temperature gas reactor at the Dow Chemical Company Seadrift site, in Seadrift, Texas.
The X-energys staff presentation discussed the following topics:
Regulations and review guidance applicable to TRISO-X fuel.
Current status of fuel qualification topical report limitations and conditions.
Approach for future fuel testing During the closed portion of the meeting, X-energy discussed fuel test plans and schedule for future licensing submittals.
No regulatory decisions were made as a result of this meeting.
