Apologies for the delayed reply. Per Section 106 of the NHPA, were responding to your request to receive copies of cultural resources reports that describe cultural resources in and around the vicinity of the Kairos site boundary. Attached are cultural resource reports that we received from the Tennessee Division of Archaeology (TDOA). One of the files listed below (DuVall 1996) is rather large, so I will send that via a separate email. All reports are password protected. The third email will contain the password to access the files.

Fielder, G.F., "Archaeological Survey with Emphasis on Prehistoric Sites of the Oak Ridge Reservation, Oak Ridge, Tennessee," ORNL-TM-4694, October 1974.

GAI Consultants Inc., "Cultural Resources Survey and Evaluation of the Tennessee Synfuels Associates Site, Oak Ridge Reservation, Roane County, Tennessee," 1981.

DuVall, G.D., "An Archaeological Reconnaissance of a 14 Mile Section of the East Fork Poplar Creek for the Environmental Restoration Project, Anderson and Roane Counties, Tennessee," 1992.

Jacobs Environmental Restoration Team, Oak Ridge Operations. Archaeological Reconnaissance K-25 Site, Oak Ridge Reservation, Oak Ridge, Tennessee [Roane County], 1995.

DuVall, G.D. and P.A. Souza, "An Evaluation of Previously Recorded and Inventoried Archeological Sites on the Oak Ridge Reservation, Anderson and Roane Counties, Tennessee," 1996.

TDOA was unable to locate copies of the following reports (see below). Two are historic building surveys, but if you would like copies, we can request that the Tennessee Historical Commission send them to you. The sites discussed in the Faulkner report are located outside of the APE.

Faulkner, C.H., "Archaeological Investigations of the Jenkins House Site (40RE188) and the Jones House Site (40RE189), Copper Ridge, Oak Ridge Reservation, Roane County, Tennessee, in Site Characterization Report for the Proposed Transuranic Waste Handling and Packaging Plant," 1988.

Thomason, P., "Historic and Architectural Analysis Oak Ridge Associated Universities Properties, Oak Ridge, Tennessee," 1993.

We are following up with the TDOA regarding Fielders 1977 report. It was one of the cultural resource reports that we requested, but it was not transmitted to us.

Summary of Discussion and Status of Reference Request

Afternoon Elizabeth,

Apologies for the delayed reply. I wanted to type up a summary of our discussion from May 2, 2022, and give you a status update on references. Please let me know if the summary below captures our discussion.

On May 2, 2022, Jennifer Davis (NRC) conducted a teleconference with the Ms. Elizabeth Toombs, Cherokee Nation Tribal Historic Preservation Officer to discuss the proposed Kairos Hermes project, the associated direct and indirect-effects APE, prior site land use, and potential impacts to historic and cultural resources. At the conclusion of the teleconference, Ms. Toombs requested copies of cultural resource surveys completed in the vicinity of the proposed project.

The applicant provided the cultural resource reports through an online reading room, so I do not have these reports on file. We will work with DOE and the Tennessee Division of Archaeology to send these reports to you. In the interim, I am sending you the publicly available references cited in the applicants Environmental Report (Attachment 1 =
