Part 72 -- Miscellaneous Items -Reply The change you are referring to is simply to add a provision to sections 72.1 and 72.2 to indicate that this part (i.e. Part 72) also governs approval of spent fuel storage casks. Currently, Parts 72.1 and 72.2 only talk about licensing ISFSIs and MRSs; however, Part 72 also addresses spent fuel storage casks and certificates of compliance -- we want to revise Part 72 to show that approving spent fuel storage casks via issuing Cof Cs is also a purpose of, and within the scope of, Part 72.
