Pacific Gas and Electric Company. 1 (Diablo Canyon Nuclear Power Plant, Units Nos.1 & 2) l Docket Nos. 50-275 0.L. & 50-323 0.L. I

Dear Mrs. Bowers:

]

In a letter dated November 16, 1977, Mr. Tourte11otte of this office  ;

informed the Licensing Baard and parties that the Justice Department had received a citizen complaint and was investigating the failure of Pacific Gas and Electric Company to infom the NRC of the existence  !

of the Hosgri Fault. Mr. Tourte11otte promised to furnish you a  !

copy of the NRC's report on the matter when'it was forthcoming.

Enclosed is a list of the documents and summary of events rel'ated l to the Diablo Canyon _ Hosgri Fault situation which were submitted to the Justice Department on December 12, 1977 by the NRC. Since the materials are too bulky to reproduce for the Diablo Canyon service list and since most of the documents should already be in possession of i the Board and the parties or obtainable at the Public Document Room. -

we are sending enly the list of documents end summarizations by the Comission's Office of Inspection and Enforcement, the Office of the Executive Legal Director, and the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regul ation.

J This is the whole NRC report; no other editorial comments were submitted. I am informed that the Justice Department is now in the process of evaluating the citizen's complaint.

Sincerely,

~ hb Q .3 cu .
