status of the staff's reevaluation of the Diablo Canyon component cooling water y
system (CCWS) including those concerns raised by Mr. Smith during his meetin.;

Mr. Smith provided specific comments regarding our SER in the areas of the .C*4 surge tank level instrumentation seismic design, seismic Category I surge

makeup capability and appropriate procedures, use of the term seismic Cat.mor p
I" when referring to the qualification of nonessential loop "C" component 3
pressure boundaries to the SSE, and heat renoval capability when only twe CCW N
pumps are operable. We indicated we would discuss his concerns with the appli-h
! cant during our April 19, 1983 meeting and would revise the SER before issuance.
