Norry, Director Office of Administration kUBJECT: 10 CFR 73.57,-REQUIREMENTS FOR CRIMINAL HISTORY CHECKS OF INDIVIDUALS WITH UNESCORTED ACCESS TO NUCLEAR F0WER PLANTS We appreciate the opportunity to comment on the proposed Rule, 10 CFR 73.57.
l As ~you know, SEC has been working closely with your staff on developing '
procedures under the draft-Rule fer the processing, control, and use of the proposed Federally-mandated criminal history checks. ADM/SEC representatives ,
cet with your staff on August 7, 1986 to discuss 10 CFR 73.57 and will also be accompanying your staff to related fact gathering meetings with the FBI and other organizations during the week of August 11, 1986. As indicated to your
-staff, SEC will provide comments on the proposed Rule, including operational i impact FTE data, after the above mentioned meetings, not later than August- 22, 1986.
'DRR has already provided comments on the proposed Rule directly to SG. Also, to insure that affected licensees' submittal instructions comply with the Communications Rule,10 CFR 50.4, that is pending publication in final, please ccntact the Information and Records Management Branch, TIDC.
