SUBJECT:

REVIEW OF THE GENERAL ATOMICS' SITE DECOMMISSIONING PLAN We have completed our acceptance review of the General Atomics' September 30, 1996, submittal entitled " General Atomics' Site Decommissioning Plan (DP)." Our review has determined that the DP has provided the necessary information to evaluate whether the DP is in conformance with the conditions set forth in 10 CFR 70.38(d)(4)(1)-(vii), and Regulatory Guide 3.65, " Standard Format and Content of Decommissioning Plans for Licensees Under 10 CFR Parts 30, 40, and 70," and the " Standard Review Plan: Evaluating Decommissioning Plans for Licensees Under 10 CFR Parts 30, 40, and 70." Therefore, we are recommending acceptance of the DP. The staff will review the licensee's DP, and may request additional information to support their safety evaluation.
