SUBJECT:
CATEGORICAL EXCLUSION FOR AMENDMENT REQUEST DATED AUGUST 22, 1988 By application dated August 22, 1988, GA requested an amendment to Special Nuclear Material License No. SL.696 to authorize tht release of approximately 18 acres for unrestricted use. The licensee has cleaned the land to acceptable levels which are below the NRC target criteria.
The staff has conducted an evaluttion of GA's deconta.nination efforts and concludes that the following conditions have been met:
1.
There is no significant change in the type or significant increase in the amount of any effluents that may be released offsite, P.
There is no significant increase in individual or cumulative occupational radiation exposure, 3.
There is no significant construction impact, and 4.
There is no significant increase in the potential for or ccnsequences from radiological accidents.
Therefore, in accordance with 10 CFR 51.22(c)(11), r$either an Environmental Assessment nor an Environmental Impact Statement is warranted for this proposed action.
