BIG ROCK POINT 3
On July 29, 1967, you formally) requested the Office of Investigations (01) i Field Office, Region 111 (Rlli, investigate an incident of suspected valve tampering at the Consumers Power Company s Big Rock Point Nuclear Power Plant.
Pursuant to several discussions I have had on this matter with members of the 01 headquarters staff, a decision has been mcdc to hold your request in abeyance at this time. The basis for this action by 01 is to allow the federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) time to evaluate this rnatter and determine whether they plan to initiate their own investigation of the allegation. Once the FBI's position on this matter is known, I will advise you of 01's decision on the disposition of your request.
