Public Utilities Corporation o n rsi December 17, 1974 Mr. Eldon J. Brunner, Chief Reactor Operations Branch Directorate of Regulatory Operations, Region 1 United States Atomic Energy Commission 631 Park Avenue King of Prussia, Pennsylvania 19406
Dear Mr. Brunner:
Subject:
Oyster Creek Nuclear Generating Station Docket No. 50-219 Inspection No. 50-219/74-16 During his inspection of October 30, 1974, Mr. Greenman noted an apparent violation of Section 903.7 of the Oyster Creek Nuclear Electric Generating Station Procedures, which specifies the distribution of Ratio-active Work Permits (RWP's) to job locations.
Mr. Greenman stated that no RWP was observed at the chromated water processing site.
'Ihis is not considered to be in violation of Station Procedures since the chromated water processing was anticipated to be of a routine nature and was expected to extend over a rather long time period.
As such, it was covered under an extended RWP. All extended RWP's for the radwaste facility are posted in the radwaste control room or near the work areas. Ilowever, had this job been covered under a regular RWP, it would also have been posted in the radwaste control room since that was the area nearest to the job site.
Generally, RWP's are not posted out-side where they would be subjected to destruction by the elements.
If you have any further questions, please contact me.

Dear F!r. b!artin:
I
Subject:
Oyster Creek Station Docket No. 50-219 Inspection No. 74-15 I
On September 26 and 27, 1974, Ftr. Partlow conducted an inspection of the program for control of special nuclear material at the Oyster Creek Nuclear Generating Station.
He found that approximately twelve (12) fuel pins, each containing SM!, had not been inventoried since January 5, 1973.
This is in violation of 10 CFR 70.51 (d) which requires that the inventory intervals not exceed twelve months.
There were thirteen (13) fuel pins that had not been inventoried since January 5, 1973.
This situation was corrected by completing an inventory of these pins on October 24, 1974.
Documentation of this inventory has been filed.
To avoid future violations, the failed pin storage baskets and the New Fuel Storage Vault will be included on tjic fuel pool inventory map to insure that these locations are not overlooked during the inventory.
l yery truly yours, p:ntsw) g/0.
