Dear Mr. Martin:

Subject:

Oyster Creek Station Docket No. 50-219 g

Inspection No. 74-15 On September 26 and 27, 1974, Mr. Partlow conducted an inspection of the program for control of special nuclear material at the Oyster Creek Nuclear Generating Station.

He found that approximately twelve (12) fuel pins, each containing SNM, had not been inventoried since January 5, 1973.

This is in violation of 10 CFR 70.51 (d) which requires that the inventory intervals not exceed twelve months.

There were thirteen (13) fuel pins that had not been inventoried since January 5, 1973. This situation was corrected by completing an inventory of these pins on October 24, 1974.

Documentation of this inventory has been filed.

To avoid future violations, the failed pin storage baskets t.

i the New Fuel Storage Vault will be included on the fuel pool inventory map to insure that these locations are not overlooked during the inventory.
