In response to your request, the Inservice Inspection Section of tne Materials Engineering Branch, Olvision of Enginecting, has reviewed the letter of November 22, 1982 submitted by aochester Gas and Electric Corporation (RG&E) in which RG&E provided information on the fibre optic inspection of the tubes in Ree 45 a' 3-steam generator hot leg required by us in NUREG 0916.
ine objective of this inspection was to examine the tubes in the area whose ends were previctsly plugged and whose location was in the vicinity of where two severed tu'>es had been found wedged between *.he tube bundle wrapper and those tubes in Row 45 of B-steam generator hot leg during the Spring 1982 outage.
The licensee has stated that no defect or abnormalities wure visible e
on the'e tubes. We find that the licensee has acceptably discharged

the Long Term Comitment item No.16 [ Licensing Condition 2 C (16)]
and this issue may be closed out.
