U.S. Department of Commerce, National Bureau.of Standards, March 1974, OCRE would recommend'the Type K, nickel-chromium alloy vs. nickel-aluminum all,oy, or "chromel-algmel" thermocouple because of its suit.able temperature range (-250 .to.1260U C, continuous .use) and its stability under neutron-irradiation.
