As we have discussed recently, a number of queations have been raised by,
B&W as they make their final mnagement evaluation prior to submitting a l
standard NSSS application planned for mid October 1975. The questions and discussion topics have been forwarded to me informally (see attachment) after a celephone conversation on 7/24 whicit included A. Schwencer and mysalf for NRC, Ken Suhrke (B&W Licensing Manager) and others.
B&W wants a meeting with Mr. Rusche in late August to discess at least some of their concerns. This seems in order but. I also have tentative agreement with B&W that B&W, W. Haass, T. Cox and perhaps' others should discuss the issues further prior to the meeting with Mr. Rusche. In this carlier discussion, we will be able to directly answer some of their concerns, baaed on existing policy, and also will.be able to = ore distinctly interpret for the staff what the real issues are that need I
to be covered in the meeting with Mr. Rusche.
I hope that you will be able to examine the attached B&W questions and formulate some responses within the next week, so that we can set up a call or meeting with B&W prior to 8/13. Please let me know if you have any alternative suggestions.
