Dear Mr. Boyd:
The Babcock & Wilcox Company herewith transmits 40 copies of our response to B-SAR Round One Question 033.20, including 3 signed originals in accordance with 10 CFR 50.30.

In keeping with agreements reached during informal meetings with Mr. T. H. Cox on Anril 28 and June 9, 1976, we are transmitting the attached at this time to obtain the benefits of a possible early review by the NRC Staff.
It is our intent to also laclude the attached response as part of forthcoming Amendment 2 to B-SAR-205, which is scheduled for submittal on July 19, 1976.
The B&W position in the matter of compliance with Regulatory Guide 1.75 is con-tained in the January 23 B&W 1etter as referenced in Question 033.20 and has been supple =ented in developing the attached response. We would be appreciative of any effort by yourself or Mr. Cox to assist us in obtaining an expedited review, and a Staff letter of evaluation, on our position.
In order to permit finalizing design of our safety systems, and to meet certain licensing needs (such as single failure analysis of protective systems), we would appreciate receiving the Staff's letter of evaluation by the end of July 1976.
