Dear Mr. Boyd:
The Babcock & Wilcox Company herewith submits sixty copies of B-SAR Amendment 4 for review.
The following comments apply to this amendment:
1)
Additional information has been included in Appendix 6A, as a result of informal discussions with the Staff, and certain revisions, corrections and additions have been made to interfaces.
2)
Additional design spectra have been included in Section 3.7 for fuel storage and handling equipment.
3)
B&W positions concerning Regulatory Guides 1.50 and 1.71 have been updated in Section 3.12.
4)
As requested by the Staff, reference co Topical Report BAW-10041 in Section 4.2.1.3.3 has been deleted and replaced with a commitment for an updated topical report.
'5)
Code Case 1592-7 has been referenced in Table 5.1-1 as applicable to the design of pressurizer heaters in accordance with authorization received by B&W on 7/26/76.
6)
Responses to Questions 012.27, 012.29 and 012.31 have been revised in accordance with informal discussions with the Staff.
7)
A number of typographical and editorial corrections and revisions have also been made.
In keeping with the agreement reached for Amendment 2, Attachment 1 to this letter provides a summary list of all changes made by B&W to B-SAR-205 tables and figures in this amendmgnt.

Instructions included herewith for filing this amendment include directions for refiling questions in the 010.xx series.
Such instructions were inadvertently omitted from Amendment 2.
This letter will also confirm that Topical Report BAW-10128, describing the B&W analysis code TRAP, was submitted for NRC review on August 12, 1976.
This action satisfies the B&W commitment stated as Item (7) in the B&W transmittal letter for B-SAR Amendment 2.
