Dear Mr. Boyd:
The Babcock 6 Wilcox Company herewith submits sixty copies of B-SAR-205 Amendment 15 for review.
This amendment includes the following specific items:
(1)
In compliance with a request by the Staff, reference to BAW-10082 has been deleted from Table 1.6-1.
Section 3.10.2 and 3.11.2 have also been revised to state a schedule for submittal of a revised version of this topical report concerning seismic and environmental testing of Class 1E instrumentation and control equipment.
(2)
A response to the Staff position described in request 110.43 has been provided to clarify the B4W position with regard to IEEE 344-1975.
(3)
Mass and energy release data for a spectrum of postulated LOCA breaks for use in containment design by applicants have been provided as Tables 6.2-4 through 6.2-15.
These tables provide mass and energy release data over a period of 24 hours2.777778e-4 days
0.00667 hours
3.968254e-5 weeks
9.132e-6 months
.
Energy balances have also been included for selected breaks.
A summary listing of these tables by title is presented as Table 6.2-3a.
Appropriate text changes have also been made in Section 6.2 to reference these tables.
(4)
Appendix 6A has been revised to be consistent with the results tabulated in Tables 6.2-4 through 6.2-15 (see item (3), above) and to specify the various bases used for the analyses.
Section 6A.5.3 presents a summary of these items and also discusses the results of a containment back-pressure sensitivity study requested by the Staff.

(5)
Short time mass and energy release data for subcompartment design are presented as Tables 6.2-16 through 6.2-32.
A summary listing of these tables by title is presented as Table 6.2-3b.
Section 6.2.1 has been revised-to reference these tables and Section 6.2.1.2.1 has been revised to clarify the bases for the analyses.
At the request of the Staff, noding sensitivity studies have also been performed in the piping adjacent to a break and the results are included with this amendment as Appendix 6B.
(6)
At the request of the Staff, a discussion of the events and operator actions in the event of a postulated break in the high pressure injection line have been included in Section 6.3.2.17.2.
(7)
At the request of the Staff, Table 6.3-6 has been revised to include relief valves RV8A and RV8B.
These valves are shown on Figure 9.3-5 and are located in the two lines leading to the reactor sump from between the decay heat dropline isolation valves V11A and V12A, and V11B and V12B, respectively.
(8)
At the request'of the Staff, a discussion of ESFAS reliability has been added as Section 7.3.2.9.
(9)
At the request of the Staff, Section 15.1.14.3 has been added to discuss the bases for the analyses of postulated small steam line breaks and Tables 15.1.14-6 and 7 have been included to provide resulting mass and energy releases.
Section 10.5.5.1 has also been revised to' include required interface in fo rma tion.
(10)
Time periods within which the high pressure injection and auviliary feedwater systems must be operational have been revised in Sections 9.3.4.1.4 and 10.5.11, respectively, to be consistent with analyses and values documented elsewhere in the B-SAR.
(11)
The response to request 221.61 has been expanded to include additional non-proprietary information in accordance with the commitment made in a letter from J. H. Taylor to Olan D. Parr, " Request for Withholding Information from Public Disclosure - Amendments 7, 10, 11 and 13," dated May 19, 1977.

(13)
Figure 10.1-1 has been revised to show appropriate quality-group classification changes at valves V22A and V22B and to correct the design condition flag located adjacent to valve V8A.
This figure has also been revised to show auxiliary feedwater valves V20A1, V20A2, V21A1, V21A2, V20B1, V20B2, V21B1 and V21B2 as normally open to be consistent with the changes made to Figure 7.4-2 in Amendment 12 to the B-SAR.
