Dear Mr. Parr:

Reference 1 requested that we provide you with a schedule for the submittal of the revised ECCS evaluation :odel to comply with Section I.C.4.e of Appendix K to 10CFR Part 50. Reference 2 included, as an attachment, Babcock & Wilcox's response to this issue which we requested the staff review as part of the l

Supply System's applications for construction permits and operating licenses l

for WNP-1/4.

Subsequent to the submittal of this infonnation, the staff requested, in Reference 3, that B&W perform additional break analysis.

Babcock & Wilcox has provided the following submittals in response to this request:

1) Letter, James H. Taylor, B&W, to S. A. Varga, NRC, dated September 30, 1977; transmitted results of the reanalyses of the three large breaks requested by the NRC in Reference 3.

2) Letter, James H. Taylor, B&W, to S.A. Varga, NRC, dated December 7,1977; answered NRC questions of November 23, 1977 on the Sectember 30, 1977 submittal.

The Supply System requests that these three submittals by Babcock & Wilcox also be considered as part of our applications for construction pennits and operating licenses for WNP-1/4.
