ANNUAL OPERATING REPORT

1.0 INTRODUCTION

This River Bend Station Annual Operating Report for 1989 .is submitted in accordance with applicable reporting requirements of Technical Specifications 6.9.1.4 and 6.9.2.5, of Appendix A to River Bend Station (RBS) License Number NPF-47. This routine operating report covering operation of the unit during the previous calendar year also complies with applicable sections of USNRC Regulatory Guide 1.16 " Reporting of Operating Information - Appendix A '

Technical Specifications".

3.0 SAFETY RELIEF VALVE HISTORY The only Safety / Relief Valve Actuations at River Bend Station during 1989 consisted of relief valve operability testing on June 20, 1989 required by Specifications 4.4.2.1 and 4.5.1 and a turbine / generator trip on December 1, 1989.

There has been no significant changes in the SRV tail pipe temperature indications during the reporting period. Approximately half of the SRV tail pipe indications are in the 220 degrees to 235 degrees F range, indicating some amount of seat leakage. Presently, suppression pool cooling is required every 2 to 4 days of full power operation.

4.0 REACTOR COOLANT SYSTEM SPECIFIC ACTIVITY ANALYSIS During the year of 1989, analysis of the specific activity of the primary coolant indicated that the Limited Condition of Operation of Specification 3.4.5, " Specific Activity" of the River Bend Technical Specification was never exceeded.

As delineated by Technical Specification section 6.9.1.5.c of Appendix A to River Bend . License Number NPF-47, no additional information is required or enclosed.
