! AN EMERGENCY CONDITION 1 1.0 Purcose

, This procedure describes the action which is to be taken by an-individual who discovers an emergency

, condition.

3.0 General, 3.1 All personnel should be safety conscious and be on continuous alert to detect any unsafe situation which if not corrected could precipitate an ,

emergency condition.

3.2 All personnel permanently assigned to FNP shall
be thoroughly familiar with the entrances to and '

4.0 Procedure An individual who discovers an emergency condition shall:

4.1 Withdraw - a safe place.(such as evacuating from an area if a radiation monitor alarms). -

t 4.2 Take any immediate action he is qualified to  !

perfo'rm which will aid in controlling and minimizing

4.2.1 Extinquishing a small fire with fire fighting equipment located in the immediate j area.

4.2.2 Closing an upstream valve when a system I i pipe rupture has occurred. ,

I 4.2.3 Rendering first-aid to affected personnel.

4.2.4 Removing injured personnel from the.

affected area, if necessary, to minimize their exposure to further injury, high radiation, or radioactive contamination.

, downstream pipe has ruptured; de-energized a burning motor; etc.).

4.2.6 Warning other personnel in the affected area to withdraw to a safe place.

4.3 Notify the Control Room over the PAX or public address system channel number 5 giving the information listed below. Notification of the control room may occur before 4.2 above based on the judgement of the individual.

4.3.1 Your name.

4.3.2 " Type of emergency (pipe rupture, fire, personnel injury, etc.).

4.3.3 T.ocation.of emergency.

4.3.4 Injured personnel.

4.3.5 Visible damage to plant components.

4.4 If radioactive contamination is involved, evacuate

, the immediate area taking precautions, if possible, 4

to prevent the spread of contamination.

4.5 If the possibility of personal contamination exists, remain in the Radiation Controlled Area until monitored unless the Plant Emergency Alarm is sounded.

4.6 Follow instructions issued by the Emergency Director.

4.7 Complete applicable sections of CEP Form 104, ,

Individual Emergency Report, (Figure 1), as soon as possible following the emergency situation and forward the report to the Emergency Director.
