ISSUANCE OF RENEWED FACILITY OPERATING LICENSE NO. NPF-47 FOR RIVER BEND STATION, UNIT 1 (CAC NO. MF9757 EPID L-2017-LNS-0010)
Dear Mr. Maguire:
The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC or the staff) has issued Renewed Facility Operating License No. NPF-47 for the River Bend Station, Unit 1 (RBS). The NRC issued the renewed facility operating license based on its review of your application dated May 25, 2017, as supplemented by letters submitted to the NRC through October 9, 2018.
The Current Facility Operating License No. NPF-47 for River Bend expires at midnight on August 29, 2025. The Renewed Facility Operating License No. NPF-47 for RBS expires at midnight on August 29, 2045.
The technical basis for issuing the renewed facility operating license for RBS is set forth in Safety Evaluation Report Related to the License Renewal of River Bend Station, Unit 1, dated August 16, 2018, (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS)
Package Accession No. ML18212A179), as revised on October 19, 2018 (ADAMS Accession No. ML18291B147. The results of the environmental review related to the issuance of the renewed license are given in the record of decision which is provided as Enclosure 3 to this letter and in NUREG-1437, Supplement 58, Generic Environmental Impact Statement for License Renewal of Nuclear Plants, Supplement 58, Regarding River Bend Station, Unit 1, Final Report, dated November 8, 2018 (ADAMS Accession No. ML18310A072). to this letter contains Renewed Facility Operating License No. NPF-47 for RBS and associated attachments. contains the following appendices related to RBS:
Appendix A, Technical Specifications Appendix B, Environmental Protection Plan Appendix C, Antitrust Conditions No changes were made to the Technical Specifications, the Environmental Protection Plan, or the Antitrust Conditions as a result of this license renewal.
W. Maguire is a Record of Decision for RBS. is a copy of the related draft Federal Register notice of issuance of the renewed license as sent to the Office of the Federal Register for publication.
