TRANSMITAL OF THE SALEM UNIT 2 INSERVICE INSPECTION PROGRAM (REVISION 18)

SALEM UNIT 2 DOCKET NO. 50-311 FACILITY OPERATING LICENSE NO. DPR-75 By this letter PSE&G transmits the Salem Unit 2 lnservice Inspection Program (Revision 1 B).

• Salem Unit 2's lnservice Inspection Program (page 1-2) presently requires the ISi Program Long Term Plan to be revised at the end of each Inspection Period.

This period revision is also required to be submitted to the NRC. Revision 1B deletes this requirement, and states the following (see page 1-2 for change):

"This document is subject to revisions, due to plant modifications and/or changes in the Regulatory and augmented requirements etc. The initial issue was transmitted to the NRC by letter, however all future ISi Program Plan revisions will be available for review at the plant site."

This approach, which helps to reduce the paper work burdens on both the NRC and PSE&G, has been implemented in both the Salem Unit 1, Hope Creek and other nuclear facility ISi programs. Revision 1B also incorporates the following additional changes: ~ ' n

1. Incorporated the new IWI Program into the ISi LTP.

2. Corrected miscellaneous spelling errors & typos.

3. Revised references to IWE & IWL IAW 10CFR50.55a NRC rule making.

4. Changed references to Code Cases from N-401 & N-402 to N-401-1 &

N-402-1 IAW the S/G Group request.

5. Added reference to Code Case N-532.

6. Added 2.5(f) - Substitution of Section XI, paragraph IWA-5250 with the 1990 Addenda.

7. Table 8 Deleted NRC IEB 82-02 and revised 88-08 requirements and added NRC IEB 7913, 93-20 & 90-04.

8. Section 9.0, deleted references to hydrostatic testing.

9. Added note to the 3rd paragraph of Section 10.0.

10. Added Relief Request RR-A 1, RR-A2 & RR-A3.

11. Added Wini SI (ISi data base program) status codes to Section 15.0, paragraph 15.1 (F).

12.Added a paragraph to Table 15-1, paragraph IV, "Supports other than piping supports". .

13. Revised all Relief Requests to include an NRC Approved/Date block.

14. Added reference to Category C-G to the 2nd to the last paragraph of page 15-8, to properly reflect the Code.
