I live within the 50 mile plume zone of SONGS, and implore the NRC to expand the public comment window as we were not given ample public notice on this deadline.

The public looks upon th~ NRC to protect us from toxic fallout from nucl~ar waste by requiring companies to uphold the highest safety standards in creating long-term storage for the toxic waste. We expect that the NRC will protect us by reqµiring SONGS and other nuclear generating stations to store the waste in thick walled canisters that can be monitored and repaired easily to insure ,not only the publics safety while been stored temporarily but in doing so will make sure that the intact canisters can be moved when a long-term solution for storage becomes available.

  • , It is public knowledge that So Cal Eddison plans to bury the toxic waste 108 feet from our coastline, only a few feet above the water table putting the public at high risk if there is a https://www.fdms.gov/fdms/getcontent?objectid=0900006482d90976&format=xml&showorig=false , 01/09/2018 Page 2 of2 tsunami or if the water table continues to rise. We call upon the NRC to put public safety first and require SCE to move the waste to higher ground at Camp Pendleton.

Please require SCE to move the waste where it is out of the tsunami zone, away from the freeway, and off of an earthquake fault line and deny So Cal Edison's pending license for the ISFSI at San Onofre. . We, the people of Southern California, Americans and citizens of the world put our trust in you at the NRC to require the highest possible safety regulations for this extremely lethal, long lasting, radioactive material.

Thank you for putting public safety before special interests.*
