Dear Members of the Technical Specifications Task Force:

By letter dated May 10, 2017 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML17130A819), you submitted to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) for review and approval Traveler TSTF-563, Revise Instrument Testing Definitions to Incorporate the Surveillance Frequency Control Program.

Section 170.21 of Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations requires that Travelers are subject to fees based on the full cost of the review. You did not request a fee waiver; therefore, NRC staff hours have been billed accordingly. The NRC staff estimates that the review will require approximately 520 staff hours including project management time.

The NRC staff has completed a preliminary review of your submission and determined it is sufficiently complete and appropriate to initiate a more comprehensive review. The review of Traveler TSTF-563 will generally follow the schedule below.
