OF OPEN HOUSE WITH MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC REGARDING RIVER BEND STATION PERFORMANCE

Dear Mr. Maguire:

On April 19, 2016, members of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff met with members of the public to share the results of the most recent performance assessment of River Bend Station as documented in NRC Inspection Report 05000458/2015006, issued on March 2, 2016 (ML16061A414). The focus of the meeting was to provide members of the public an opportunity to ask questions about the NRCs purpose and responsibilities, and to discuss any regulatory issues. The discussion covered the Reactor Oversight Process (ROP), the role of the NRC resident inspector, River Bend Stations position in the ROP Action Matrix, and the appropriate level of NRC regulatory response based on River Bend Stations position in the ROP Action Matrix.

This Category 3 public meeting was attended by one member of the public, one representative for Senator Vitter, one representative for Senator Cassidy, two people from the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality, one person from the Governors Office of Homeland Security, and eight people from Entergy. A copy of the NRCs slides are enclosed.

In accordance with 10 CFR 2.390 of the NRCs Rules of Practice, a copy of this letter and its enclosures will be available electronically for public inspection in the NRCs Public Document Room or from the Publicly Available Records (PARS) component of the NRCs ADAMS.
