SUBJECT:

BRAIDWOOD STATION, UNITS 1 AND 2 - CORRECTION OF TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS RELATED TO AMENDMENT 145

Dear Mr. Hanson:

On October 4, 2007 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS)

Accession No. ML072620362) the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) issued Amendment Nos. 145 to license numbers NPPF-72 and NPF-77 for Braidwood Station, Units 1 and 2. The amendments were in response to the Exelon Generation Company, LLC (Exelon) application dated September 26, 2006 (ADAMS Accession No. ML062700248), as supplemented by letter August 8, 2007 (ADAMS Accession No. ML072200453).

Amendment Nos. 145 addressed, in part, the replacement of Joseph Oat spent fuel storage racks with Holtec spent fuel storage racks at Braidwood which was completed in December 2001. As noted in the NRC staff's safety evaluation included in with Amendment Nos. 145, Braidwood has only Holtec spent fuel storage racks in the spent fuel pool and therefore all references to Joseph Oat spent fuel storage racks is no longer needed since they are physically removed from the spent fuel pool. Amendment Nos. 145 should have removed reference to Joseph Oat spent fuel storage racks which would have deleted technical specification (TS) pages 3.7.16-4, 3.7.16-5, 3.7.16-6, and 3.7.16-7. However, the amendments did not correctly identify these pages as being deleted. The NRC staff is removing those TS pages consistent with the amendment request and the NRC staff's analysis.
