Site  : DIABLO CANYON Emergency Class  : Not Applicable Offsite Notification Due to Recovery of a Live Green Sea Turtle.

At approximately 0910 PDT on 09/22/2014, the shift manager was notified of a green sea turtle at the bar racks of the Diablo Canyon Power Plant intake structure. A report will be made to the National Marine Fisheries Service. The sea turtle was retrieved and released unharmed.

The report and this notification are required by the Diablo Canyon Power Plant Environmental Protection Plan and in accordance with 10 CFR 50.72(b)(2)(xi) regarding a notification made to another government agency.

The licensee informed the NRC Resident Inspector.

Notified R4DO (Drake) and the Endangered Species Group via email.
