SUBJECT:
SUMMARY
OF DECEMBER 20, 1983 MEETING On December 20, 1983, the NRC staff met with representatives of Southern California Edison Company in Bethesda, Maryland. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss and resolve the outstanding environmental quali fication issues for San Onofre Unit No. 1. A list of attendees is enclosed (Enclosure 1).
The areas discussed were (1) the deficiencies identified in the Franklin Research Center Technical Evaluation Report, (2) the licensee's program for complying with the requirements set forth in 10 CFR 50.49, and (3) the licensee's justification for continued operation as required. is a table showing the status of resolution of environmental equipment qualification prepared by the licensee as the basis for dis cussion.
The licensee indicated subsequent to the meeting that it is their intention to document the results of the meeting by January 31, 1984.
