Revision to the Emergency Response Data System The Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) is enclosing revisions to the Emergency Response Data System (ERDS) data point library for Units 1, 2, and 3.
TVA is submitting the most recent approved revision of the technical instruction, Emergency Response Data Point System Data Point Library, for each unit. The revisions to the library, which include the addition of meteorological points, were approved on September 20, 2012, and have not been fully implemented. The changes are identified by a line drawn in the right margin of the affected page of each of the enclosed technical instructions. This information is being sent at this time to support coordination of the changes between the NRC and TVA data systems.

1.0 INTRODUCTION
This Technical Instruction provides an appendix which contains the Emergency Response Data System (ERDS) Data Point Library for Unit 1. The ERDS Data Point Library is provided to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) to document information relative to applicable data points that are transmitted from BFN Unit 1 Integrated Computer System (ICS) to the NRC whenever ERDS is activated. As such, changes to this Data Point Library must be coordinated with Licensing in order to ensure the NRC is informed of changes. Relative to ERDS changes, 10CFR50 Appendix E, Part VI, Paragraph 3a states:
"Any hardware or software changes that affect transmitted data points identified in the ERDS Data Point Library (site specific data base residing on the ERDS computer) must be submitted to the NRC within 30 days after the changes are completed."
ERDS consists of processes that run on ICS which collect applicable data and transmit this data across the network to TVA offices in Chattanooga. ERDS is NOT normally transmitting data to the NRC; the NRC only receives this data when they specifically request its transmission. When the NRC desires to receive BFN ERDS data, they will make a connection to a computer(s) in Chattanooga to obtain this data. ERDS is intended for use during radiological emergencies.
1.1 PURPOSE This instruction provides a controlled BFN instruction that documents the ERDS Data Point Library for Unit 1.
1.2 SCOPE This instruction is applicable to Unit 1 only.

1.0 INTRODUCTION
This Technical Instruction provides an appendix which contains the Emergency Response Data System (ERDS) Data Point Library for Unit 2. The ERDS Data Point Library is provided to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) to document information relative to the applicable data points that are transmitted from the BFN Unit 2 Integrated Computer System (ICS) to the NRC whenever ERDS is activated.
As such, changes to this Data Point Library must be coordinated with Licensing in order to ensure that the NRC is informed of the changes. Relative to ERDS changes, 10CFR50 Appendix E, Part VI, Paragraph 3a states:
"Any hardware and software changes that affect the transmitted data points identified in the ERDS Data Point Library (site specific data base residing on the ERDS computer) must be submitted to the NRC within 30 days after the changes are completed."
ERDS consists of processes that run on ICS which collect applicable data and transmit this data across the network to TVA offices in Chattanooga. ERDS is NOT normally transmitting data to the NRC; the NRC only receives this data when they specifically request its transmission. When the NRC desires to receive BFN ERDS data, they will make a connection to a computer(s) in Chattanooga to obtain this data. ERDS is intended to be used during radiological emergencies.
1.1 PURPOSE The purpose of this instruction is to provide a controlled BFN instruction that documents the ERDS Data Point Library for Unit 2.
1.2 SCOPE The Scope of this instruction is for Unit 2 only.

1.0 INTRODUCTION
This Technical Instruction provides an appendix which contains the Emergency Response Data System (ERDS) Data Point Library for Unit 3. The ERDS Data Point Library is provided to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) to document information relative to the applicable data points that are transmitted from the BFN Unit 3 Integrated Computer System (ICS) to the NRC whenever ERDS is activated.
As such, changes to this Data Point Library must be coordinated with Licensing in order to ensure that the NRC is informed of the changes. Relative to ERDS changes, 10CFR50 Appendix E, Part VI, Paragraph 3a states:
"Any hardware and software changes that affect the transmitted data points identified in the ERDS Data Point Library (site specific data base residing on the ERDS computer) must be submitted to the NRC within 30 days after the changes are completed."
ERDS consists of processes that run on ICS which collect applicable data and
-transmit this data across the network to TVA offices in Chattanooga. ERDS is NOT normally transmitting data to the NRC; the NRC only receives this data when they specifically request its transmission. When the NRC desires to receive BFN ERDS data, they will make a connection to a computer(s) in Chattanooga to obtain this data. ERDS is intended to be used during radiological emergencies.
1.1 PURPOSE The purpose of this instruction is to provide a controlled BFN instruction that documents the ERDS Data Point Library for Unit 3.
1.2 SCOPE The Scope of this instruction is for Unit 3 only.
