The coating appearance was uniform in color, with no indications of degradation (blistering, peeling, flaking, cracking or separation of coating from the metal surface). The coating outerwrap appeared to be evenly applied, with the edges of overlapping layers wrap sealed with the coal tar enamel. Further, there was no discoloration or evidence of corrosion product under or at the edges of the wrap, and the coating surface was solid to the touch. Photos are attached.

CR-COMMENTS (Inspector): This inspection is a visual inspection of the As-Found condition of the pipe coating. The portion of Line 1080 inspected under this task is shown on the attached dwg. 9321-F-23593 excerpt (attached). The results of this inspection will be evaluated together with the results of direct UT and gllided wave ultrasonic inspections, which will be performed under separate tasks.
