VIRGIL C. SUMMER NUCLEAR STATION, UNIT NO.1 - DAM SAFETY AND OPERATION INSPECTION REPORT

Dear Mr. Archie:

Enclosed is a copy of the Dam Safety Inspection Report prepared by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) for the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission. The enclosure contains the results of an inspection on April 22, 2009, of the service water pond dams at the Virgil C. Summer Nuclear Station, Unit NO.1. During this inspection there were no conditions found that should adversely affect the immediate safety and permanence of the structures or the operational reliability of the reservoir.

At FERC's request, the enclosure is not being made publicly available since it contains critical energy infrastructure information.
