OF SAFETY INSPECTION OF THE SERVICE WATER RESERVOIR DAM (CAC NOS. 001370/05000395; EPID L-2017-LNS-0015)

Enclosed is a copy of the Dam Safety Inspection Report prepared by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) for the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC). This report contains the results of an inspection completed on June 26, 2024, of the Service Water Pond (SWP) Dams (North, South, and East) and West Embankment at the Virgil C. Summer Nuclear Station, Unit No. 1. Based on observations made during the field inspection, review of data submitted by the owner, and discussions with the NRC staff and licensee representatives, FERC found that the SWP dam embankment and appurtenances were in satisfactory condition and adequately maintained and did not observe any conditions which would adversely affect the safety, permanence, and operational reliability of the SWP Dam.
The information in the report is considered Critical Energy Infrastructure Information (CEII). The Enclosure is considered sensitive security-related information, official use only, and is being withheld from public disclosure.
The enclosure transmitted herewith contains security-related information. When separated from the enclosure, this document is decontrolled.
