SALEM NUCLEAR GENERATING STATION, UNIT NOS. 1 AND 2, CLOSEOUT OF MISCELLANEOUS LICENSING ACTIVITY TACS (TAC NOS. MC9226, MC9227, MD2164 AND MD2165)

This memorandum documents the closeout of several licensing activity (R*) TACs taken out for Salem Units 1 and 2. The following table provides details regarding the reasons each of the TACs is being closed.

TAC Description Comments Nos.

MC9226 CO2 Fire Suppression These TACs were taken out as activity code RM MC9227 System (preapplication review). They were used to support a meeting held on December 13, 2005, and subsequent discussion with the licensee to discuss potential changes to the CO2 system. These TACs are no longer needed since this issue is being resolved via review of a licensee request to withdraw the current Appendix R exemptions for the 460V and 4160V Switchgear Rooms (TAC Nos.

MD1246, MD1247, MD1254, and MD1255).

MD2164 Modifications to the These TACs were taken out as activity code RM MD2165 Service Water (preapplication review). They were used to support a System meeting held on June 1, 2006, and subsequent discussion with the licensee to discuss a proposed license amendment associated with the service water system. There is no current activity on these TACs.

New TACs (Activity Code LA) will be taken out after the licensee submits the amendment request.
