Re: Region 3 Request for RES Assistance to Review Ground-Water Modeling at the Braidwood NPP Tom, We will be preparing a TAR requesting your assistance in evaluating the Braidwood Tritium contamination.

We appreciate your willingness to participate next week in a call with the licensee's hydrologist.

Steve

Steve:

It was good talking with you concerning the subject request. Attached is information I found via Google on the individual you mentioned who is to model the Braidwood tritium migration. I spoke to our management and they are amenable to your request, but need a Written Technical Assistance Request (TAR).

Please send us a TAR for the review you are requesting along with a TAC number. Also, my management would like the teleconference with the Exelon contractor on ground-water modeling to be scheduled during the morning of February 16th, if possible, since there is a meeting in the afternoon they wish me to attend.

Please send me any background information on the hydrogeology of Braidwood site, and the location and nature of the tritium release, if available. I did see Exelon's press release on the event.

Thanks ......... Tom Thomas J.
