FORTHCOMING MEETING WITH PSEG NUCLEAR LLC, REGARDING SALEM NUCLEAR GENERATING STATION FIRE PROTECTION PROGRAM DATE & TIME: Tuesday, December 13, 2005 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

LOCATION: U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC)

One White Flint North 11555 Rockville Pike, Room O-8 B4 Rockville, Maryland PURPOSE: Working-level meeting to discuss fire protection program (FPP) at Salem Nuclear Power Plant, Unit Nos. 1 and 2. The meeting will discuss the status of the FPP (i.e., the exemptions from Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations, Part 50, Appendix R; the causes of reduced carbon dioxide (CO2) concentration from the fire suppression system in the 4160-volt switchgear rooms, 460-volt switchgear rooms, and lower electrical penetration area rooms; and the effects of CO2 migration) and the plans for returning the FPP to conformance with its licensing basis.

The meeting agenda is attached.
