Purpose:
The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) will host a webinar to present the NRCs assessment of safety performance at Salem and Hope Creek for 2017, as described in the annual assessment letters dated February 28, 2018. Following the presentation, the NRC will respond to questions specific to the safety performance of Salem and Hope Creek and the NRCs role in ensuring safe plant operations.
NRC Attendees: F. Bower, Chief, Division of Reactor Projects (DRP), Branch 3 J. Hawkins, Senior Resident Inspector, Hope Creek S. Haney, Resident Inspector, Hope Creek P. Finney, Senior Resident Inspector, Salem A. Ziedonis, Resident Inspector, Salem J. Kim, Project Manager, Plant Licensing Branch I M. Draxton, Project Engineer, DRP, Branch 3 Public Participation: This is a Category 3 Meeting. The webinar will begin with a presentation by NRC staff on the NRCs assessment of performance for the Salem and Hope Creek sites during 2017. Then, following the presentation, members of the public will have the opportunity to ask questions specific to the safety performance of Salem and Hope Creek and the NRCs role in ensuring safe plant operations. Those wishing to submit questions can do so in writing or verbally during the webinar. The NRC staff will provide guidance during the webinar on the methods available to ask a question.
Alternatively, questions may be submitted in advance to Fred.Bower@nrc.gov.
Interested members of the public should register at the internet address below. After registering, a confirmation email will be sent with details for joining the webinar. This is a virtual public meeting where participants will be able to see the presentation on a computer screen and hear the presenters through a computers speaker system. If a computer or speaker system is not available to you, there is an option to join via a phone call-in number. Attendees must still register to obtain the phone call-in number.
