Beaver Valley Power Station, Unit Nos. 1 and 2 BV-1 Docket No. 50-334, License No. DPR-66 BV-2 Docket No. 50412, License No. NPF-73 Supplemental Information Supporting License Amendment Request Nos. 302 and 173 FirstEnergy Nuclear Operating Company (FENOC) letter L-04-125 to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) dated October 4, 2004, submitted a license amendment request for Beaver Valley Power Stations (BVPS) Unit Nos. I and 2. The proposed amendment would change the BVPS Unit Nos. 1 and 2, operating licenses to increase the maximum authorized power level from 2689 megawatts thermal (MWt) to 2900 MWt.

This change represents an increase of approximately 8 percent above the current maximum authorized power level. The proposed amendment would also change the BVPS Unit Nos. 1 and 2 Technical Specifications (TSs) to authorize operation with replacement Model 54F steam generators (SGs) for BVPS Unit I (BVPS Unit 2 would continue to operate with Model 51M SGs) and full implementation of the Alternative Source Terms for BVPS Unit Nos. 1 and 2, in accordance with Regulatory Guide 1.183, "Alternative Radiological Source Terms for Evaluating Design Basis Accidents at Nuclear Power Reactors."

NRC letter dated January 6, 2005 provided the results of the staffs acceptance review of the Extended Power Uprate (EPU) application for BVPS Unit Nos. 1 and 2. This letter requested that additional technical information be provided in sufficient detail to enable the staff's independent assessment regarding the acceptability of the proposed amendment in terms of regulatory requirements and the protection of public health and safety. Areas, which require additional information to be submitted where identified in Sections 1.0 through 6.0 of the enclosure to the January 6, 2005 NRC, letter.

Attachments B through F provide the requested additional information for those items described in Section 1.0-Environmental Review, Section 3.0-Electrical Distribution, Section-4.0-Testing, Section-5.0-Plant Systems, and Section-6.0-Ventilation Systems, Aoo1 I. - -... --
