Areas Insoected:
Routine, unannounced inspection of safety-related construction activities pertaining to installation, inspection and documentation of safety-related electrical and instrumentation cables.
The inspection involved twenty-four inspector-hours by one NRC inspector.

Safety-Related Electical Cables - Review of Ouality Records The IE inspector reviewed the quality related records relative to eleven Unit 1 installed alectrical Class IE cables and their respective terminations to ascertain that these records reflect work accomplishment consistent with established procedures to meet NRC requirements and licensee commitments.
The installation documentation was reviewed for quality aspects of such work accomplishment as: permissible bend radius, proper grounding, cable pulling, identification, and proper installation of termination components (lugs, connections and penetration splices).

Safety-Related Instrumentation Cables - Review of Quality Records The IE inspector reviewed the quality related records relative to ten Unit 1 installed instrument cables and their respective terminations to ascertain whether these records reflect work accomplishment consistent with established procedures to meet NRC requirements and SAR commitments.
Of the ten cables selected, nine were selected from the Reactor Protection System (RPS) and one from the safety-related normal plant process and alarms.
The installation cocumentation was reviewed for quality aspects of such work accomplishment as: permissible bend radius, procer grounding, cable pulling, identification and proper installation of termination components (lugs, connections and penetration splices).
