This refers to the inspection conducted by our Resident Reactor Inspector, Mr. R. G. Taylor, during February 1981, of activities authorized by NRC Construction Permit No. CPPR-126 for Comanche Peak, Unit No. 1, and to the discussion of our findings with Mr. R. G. Tolson and other members of your staff at the conclusion of the inspection.
During this inspection, it was found that certain of your activities were not conducted in full compliance with NRC requirements.
Consequently, you are required to respond to this matter, in writing, in accordance with the provisions of Section 2.201 of the NRC's " Rules of Practice," Part 2.
Title 10, Code of Federal Regulations.
Your response should be based on the specifics contained in the Notice of Violation attached to this letter.
It should be noted that this is the second citation you have received in approximately ten months in regard to the support of piping runs or piping i
components by welded or flanged connections.
Therefore, in your response, please give particular attention to the corrective steps which will be taken to avoid further recurrence of this type of violation.
Details of this item will be included in an inspection report to be issued in the near future and identified as Inspection Report No. 50-445/81-02; 50-446/81-02.
