Inspection on July 15-16, 1982 (Inspection Report 50-333/82-17)

Areas Inspected:

Routine unannounced safety inspection to provide an overview of the Radiation Protection Program and related aspects of Health Physics. The inspection consisted of selective examination of procedures and representative records review of equipment and facilities, interviews with personnel, independent measurements and facility tours inside the plant and through out the protected area. The inspection consisted of 26 hours3.009259e-4 days <br />0.00722 hours <br />4.298942e-5 weeks <br />9.893e-6 months <br /> on site by one Senior Radiation Specialist and an NRC management representative.

Results: Violations - None.

Inspection Purpose The purpose of this inspection was to provide an overview / status of the Radiation Program and related Health Physics matters.

Inspection Scope The following areas were reviewed:

Organizational Structure (Health Physics)

b)

Training / Experience (Health Physics)

c)

ALARA d)

Portal Monitor / Frisking requirements e)

Plant Cleanliness / Housekeeping f)

Site Specific Training g)

Laboratory Facilities h)

Offgas System Status The plant was recovering from an outage during this inspection.

Facility tours were conducted and independent surveys completed.

Storage and label-ing of radioactive materials were discussed.

ALARA considerations were exmained.

No violations were identified. The plant was found to be well maintained with respect to housekeeping / cleanliness consideration.
