-- EXECUTIVE SUMMARY Crystal River Unit 3 NRC Inspection Report 50-302/97-15 -

This routine, announced inspection was conducted in the area of plant support by a regional safeguards inspector. The specific area evaluated was the Physical Security Program for Power Reactors.

Compensatory posts were appropriately established and in accordance with the o

licensee's Physical Security Plan and applicable procedures. Officers observed and interviewed were knowledgeable in their duties and responsibilities. (S1.1)

A violation of regulatory requirements was identified by the inspector in that the o

licensee failed to control protected area accecs with the requirements specified in the NRC approved PSP and implementing procedures. (S2.1)

. Testing and maintenance of security related equipment was being performed on a-o timely schedule and in accordance with the PSP and implementing procedures.
