Nuclear Material Safety and Safeguards Branch Division of Radiation Safety and Safeguards SUMMARY Scope:
This routine, ' unannounced inspection was conducted in the following areas:
Physical Security Program for Power Reactors, specifically, Security Audit, Protected Area Barriers, Assessment, Access Controls, Alarre Stetions, Testing, Maintenance and Compensatory Measures.
The licensee's actions re htive to NRC Notices, and prior Violations were also reviewed.
Results:
In the areas inspected, one apparently repetitive violation was identified:
Failure to issue a picture badge prior to entry into the protected area.

NRC Notice 89-05 "Use of Deadly Force" - was closed and violation 88-10-01
" Bullet Resistant Barrier" was also closed.
The licensee continues the long term use of compensatory measures for its degraded assessment capability.
Improvements were noted in alarm stations operations and security officer performance.
