Dear Mr. Patuiski:
On June 6,1997, the NRC completed an inspection at your Point Beach Plant. The enclosed report presents the results of that inspection.
This inspection included your physical security program activities and a review of the status of previous open inspection findings. The Executive Summary provides an overview l
of our assessment of your performance in Physical Security, an aspect of Plant Support.

At the conclusion of the inspection the findings were discussed with those members of your staff identified in the report.
,
No violations of NRC requirements were identified during this inspection. However, we identified that staff shortages affected your drill program and significant overtime was needed to maintain security plan commitments.
The overall effectiveness of your physical security program was acceptable. Plant security force personnel demonstrated both an understanding and proper implementation of observed security activities. Security management activities appeared to be properly j
focused toward physical protection requirements.
