Routine, announced physical security inspection involving:

Management Support; Protected and Vital Area Barriers, Detection and Assessment Aids; Protected and Vital Area Access Control Personnel, Vehicles and Packages; Alarm Stations and Communications; Power Supply; Testing, Maintenance and Compensatory Measures; Training and Qualifications and Followup on Previous Inspection Findings.

Results: One violation involving a failure to adequately implement protected area search requirements was identified. Corrective action was adequately

implemented. One inspector followup item relating to reduced availability of i

  • day-to-day security activities has improved and was good, except as noted in the report. Security personnel at the licensee's and contractor level were knowledgeable of security requirements and implemented program requirements in a professional and effective manner. Licensee security staffing levels were ample. Contractor resources were effectively utilized to support security program requirements. Security equipment effectiveness continued to improve and was good. However, reduced reliability of some intrusion alarm detection devices was identified. Maintenance support was good. Security training activities showed positive program performance.
