SUBJECT:

REACTOR AND SENIOR REACTOR OPERATOR INITIAL EXAMINATIONS -

H. B. ROBINSON NUCLEAR PLANT 05000261/2007301 (RE-ADMINISTRATION OF WRITTEN EXAM)

Dear Mr. Walt:

In a telephone conversation on March 26, 2007, between Mr. Rick Moore, Sr. Nuclear Operations Training Instructor, and Mr. Mark A. Bates, Sr. Operations Engineer, arrangements were made for the administration of licensing examinations at the Robinson Nuclear Plant during the week of June 11, 2007.

As agreed during the telephone conversation, your staff will prepare the examinations based on the guidelines in NUREG 1021, Operator Licensing Examination Standards for Power Reactors, Revision 9. The NRC regional office will discuss with your staff any changes that might be necessary before the examinations are administered.

To meet the above schedule, it will be necessary for your staff to furnish the examination outlines by March 28, 2007. The written examinations, as well as the supporting reference materials identified in NUREG 1021, ES-201, Attachment 2, Reference Material Guidelines For Initial Licensing Examinations, will be due by May 1, 2007. Pursuant to 10 CFR 55.40(b)(3), an authorized representative of the facility licensee shall approve the outlines and examinations before they are submitted to the NRC for review and approval. All materials shall be complete and ready-to-use. We request that any personal, proprietary, sensitive unclassified, or safeguards information in your response be contained in a separate enclosure and appropriately marked. Any delay in receiving the required examination and reference materials, or the submittal of inadequate or incomplete materials, may cause the examinations to be rescheduled.

In order to conduct the requested written examinations, it will be necessary for your staff to provide adequate space and accommodations available on the dates noted above in accordance with NUREG 1021, ES-402, Administering Initial Written Examinations.

Appendix E of NUREG 1021, Policies and Guidelines For Taking NRC Examinations, contains a number of NRC policies and guidelines that will be in effect while the written examinations are being administered.
