Meeting No. 50-244/89-08 On December 14, 1989, a Management Meeting was held at the NRC Region I Office, King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, to discuss the findings of NRC Inspection No.
50-244/89-08 and other matters, as requested in our May 25, 1989 letter to you.
The attendees are listed in Enclosure l.
At the meeting, we discussed the implementation o'f your security program, particularly with respect to systems and equipment.
The meeting agenda is enclosed (Enclosure 2),
We found the meeting to be very informative and indicative of a responsive management attitude relative to the previously identified need for security program improvements.
The scope and timely implementation of program enhancements demonstrate a thoughtful approach to improving the security program.
We anticipate that the resources expended, especially in the areas of system and equipment upgrades, additional security support staff and security program plan revisions, will result in measurable benefits to the security program.
Further documentation of the matters discussed at the meeting is prohibited under
CFR 73.71 (Safeguards Information), since they concern details of your security program that must be protected from public disclosure.
We appreciate the information provided during the meeting and believe that the meeting was mutually beneficial in understanding and resolving the issues raised during the inspection.
We look forward to your continuing attention to the program and efforts to upgrade and enhance its effectiveness.
