Systematic Assessment of Licensee Performance (SALP) Report No.
50-244/87-99 The NRC Region I SALP Board conducted a review on July 11, 1989 and evaluated the performance of activities associated with the R.
E. Ginna Nuclear Power Plant.
The results of this assessment are documented in the enclosed SALP re-port, which covers the period December 1,
1987 to May 31, 1989.
We will con-tact you shortly to schedule a.meeting to discuss the report.
At the meeting, be prepared to discuss our assessment and any plans you have to improve performance.
In particular be prepared to discuss the decline in your performance in the Security area and your plans to strengthen your cor-rective action systems programs.
The continued weakness in your use of the Quality Assurance organization as a management tool is of concern to us.
Following our meeting and receipt of your response, the enclosed report, your response, and summary of our findings and planned actions will be placed in the Public Document Room.
