Description

Title 10 CFR Part 50.49, paragraph (d), states, in part, the applicant or licensee shall prepare a list of electric equipment important to safety. In addition, the applicant or licensee shall include the information in paragraphs (d)(1), (2), and (3) of this section for this electric equipment important to safety in a qualification file. The applicant or licensee shall keep the list and information in the file current and retain the file in auditable form for the entire period during which the covered item is installed in the nuclear power plant or is store for future use. Contrary to 10 CFR 50.49, paragraph (d), prior to December 12, 2012, the licensee failed to keep the list and information in the electric equipment qualification file current for electric equipment inside containment when the analysis of record for the Main Steam Line Break accident changed. The licensee entered this condition into the corrective action program as Condition Report 2012-03718. The finding is of very low safety significance, because it is a design or qualification deficiency confirmed not to result in the loss of operability or functionality of the system.
