CLOSURE OF INVESTIGATION (014-2017-014)

Dear Mr. Peters:

This refers to an investigation conducted by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission's (NRC's)

Office of Investigations regarding activities at the Comanche Peak Nuclear Power Plant. The Office of Investigations initiated the investigation to determine whether Securitas Security Services personnel at the Comanche Peak Nuclear Power Plant, Glen Rose, TX, willfully failed to implement fire protection procedures, failed to maintain complete and accurate records, and engaged in deliberate misconduct by knowingly providing the inaccurate information to the NRC.

Based on the evidence developed during the investigation, the concern that:

  • A project manager for Securitas Security Services at the Comanche Peak Nuclear Power Plant asked an employee to falsify training records related to the Fire Protection Program was not substantiated.
  • A supervisor/manager for Securitas Security Services at the Comanche Peak Nuclear Power Plant asked an employee to falsify training records related to the Fire Protection Program was not substantiated.
  • A Securitas Security Services employee falsified a fire watch training record was not substantiated.

The NRC pians no further action related to the alleged wrongdoing and considers this investigation closed.
